Obituary of Alma Jewel Stiefel

Mrs. Alma Jewel Haynes Stiefel, age 90, passed away Monday January 7, 2019 at her home in Tracy City. She was born January 29, 1928 to the late Carl E. Haynes and Martha Ethel Meeks Haynes. She is also preceded in death by her son Wendell Stiefel; son-in-law Terry Franklin; great-granddaughter, Haley Curtis; great-grandson, Owen Parker Cash, along with several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving husband of 75 years Eule Stiefel; sons, Bill (Betty), Keith (Nelda), and Kurt (Michele) Stiefel; daughters, Elaine (Johnny) Gipson, and Lori Franklin; daughter-in-law Kathy Bivens Stiefel; sisters, Betty (Alfred) Layne and Portia (Burney) McDowell; 17 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Alma was the lead singer for the Haynes Trio and sang at revivals, homecomings, and funeral services all throughout Tennessee. She was a member of Myers Hill Church. Mrs. Stiefel and her husband were owners of Eule Stiefel’s Used Cars for many years.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday at Myers Hill Methodist Church with Rev. Dennis Rollins and Rev. Ray Mills officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery.
