Ross Thomas Barry age 82 of Winchester and formerly of the Midway community near Sewanee passed away Thursday evening in Southern Tennessee Health Services in Sewanee. Ross was U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He was a son of the late Arthur C. and Sarah Long Barry and was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ann Barry; brother, William E.; brother-in-law, Clyde Jacobs; step-daughters, Patricia Beck and Jeanne Merck. Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Barry, Winchester; son, Timothy Alan Barry and his fiancé, Tingting Xu of Murfreesboro; daughter, Karen Annette McCallie and her husband, Richard of Winchester; brother, James A. Barry and his wife, Judy of Monteagle; sisters, Evelyn Ann Jacobs, of Sewanee, Patricia Jean Shetters and her husband, Martin of Sewanee; sister-in-law, Juanita Barry of Sewanee; step-daughter, Tina Brannon; step-son, Sam Martin; grandson, Cody Alan Hoosier, and his girlfriend, Rachel Blackburn; step-grandchildren, Cassie Marie McCallie, Craig Albert McCallie and his wife, Tanya, Lori Michelle Heard, Leigh Thigpen and her husband, Thomas, Jennifer Perini and her husband, Bob, Adam Brannon, Zach Brannon, Chris Beck and his wife, Tracey, Whit Beck and his wife, Ann. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday in the funeral home chapel with Senior Warden Jarod Pearson of St. Agnes Anglican Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee. The family will receive friends Sunday 4-9 P.M. at the funeral home. On line condolences may be made at: www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
