Obituary of Kory Short

Kory Duncan Short age 17 of Tracy City passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015, in Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville after a long and courageous battle with Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Kory inspired his family, friends, care givers and any one that he met with his uplifting attitude and friendly personality. He had met many, many people throughout his brief time here, he visited the President of the United States at the White House. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Virginia C. Short; aunt, Shawna Short. Survivors include his parents, Kip and Penny Short, Tracy City; brother, Kye (Harlee) Short; sister, Kayla (Dylan) Woods; aunts, Trina Nunley and Misha Hammock; maternal grandparents, Alvin "Tiny" and Shirley Dykes; paternal grandfather, Robert "Pop" Short; nieces, McKenna Anderson and Maci Short; cousins, Katie, Jenny Beth, Madison, Trinity, Samantha, Emily and Simon; and many, many friends whom he loved and was loved. Funeral services for Kory will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Andy Weaver and Brother Stacey Smith officiating. Burial will be in Coalmont Cemetery.
