William Francis Risley age 93 of Monteagle passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Services in Sewanee. He was born in New Haven, New York, a son of the late William H. Risley and Mable Smith Risley and was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline and a son, Robert W. Risley. Bill was a retired truck driver and was a WW II U.S. Army veteran, he served in H & H Service TRP, 24th Con RCN SQ MCCZ, in Ardennes Central Europe, Normany, France and Rhineland.
Bill is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his friend and companion, Janet Smith.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Paul Tittle officiating followed by full military honors, proudly provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until time of services. Burial of his ashes will be in Summerfield Cemetery beside his wife, Pauline.
