Obituary of Bertha Jacobs

Bertha Louise Jacobs age 86 of the Midway Community near Sewanee passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Willows of Winchester. She was born in Sewanee, a daughter of the late Samuel Jacobs and Ollie Stephens Jacobs and was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill, Clyde, Frank and John Jacobs; sisters, Jessie Jacobs, Sally Green, Pauline Boyd, Bessie Glunt and Corine Keith. Bertha attended the Midway Baptist Church and had worked at the hat factory in Winchester.
She is survived by her son, Gary Jacobs of Winchester; granddaughter, Alicia Pitts; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends Sunday 1-3 P.M. On line condolences may be made at www.cumberlandfuneralhome.net.
